The most notorious highway intersection in the Rockdale area claimed two more lives Monday afternoon.

Usually this time year you’d be hearing the sounds of marching band practice coming from the vicinity of Rockdale High School. Not this COVID-19-ridden year. Director Adrian Acevedo (R) and new assistant director Brandon Bahara check over band business in the RHS Band Hall. Although the band did get in a couple of outdoor practices in July, the remainder of previously-announced summer practice was canceled, according to Acevedo. “We will begin the first day of school Aug. 13,” he said. Acevedo noted regular band spacing in marching performance meets social distancing requirements.Reporter/Mike Brown
