Funeral services for Larry Drosche, 74 of Lexington were held on Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington with Rev. Jonathan Meyer officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Larry Gene Drosche was born on Oct. 31, 1947, in Cameron, the son of Harry and Ruby (Biehle) Drosche.

He was baptized on Nov. 9, 1947, and confirmed on April 15, 1962, at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington by Rev. Max Studtmann. His confirmation verse was Psalm 128:1, “Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord; that walketh in his ways.”

He attended Blinn College and finished his education at James Connally Technical Institute.

On July 27, 1968, he was united in marriage to Betty Jatzlau at St. James Lutheran Church by Rev. John Siemgleusz.

He served in the United States Army from 1970 until 1975.

Larry retired from Alcoa in 2007, where he worked as an electrician for 38 years. He enjoyed working his cat

He enjoyed working his cattle, taking fishing trips to the coast, hunting, and a good game of 42.

Larry passed away the morning of Friday, Nov. 5, in College Station.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ruby Drosche; his wife, Betty Drosche, and brother, Robert Drosche.

Larry is survived by his two children, Laurie and Mike Brewer of Lexington, and Keith and Amy Drosche of Lexington; four grandchildren, Jennifer and Sawyer Stowers of Lexington, Kyle Brewer of Lexington, Luke Drosche of Lexington, and Kate Drosche of Lexington; two great-grandsons, Coen Stowers and Bennett Stowers of Lexington; eight sisters-in-law, Ruth Thomas of Alvin, Jeannie Hajdik of Houston, Helen Jatzlau of Giddings, Shirley Dismuke of Elgin, Dorothy and Peter Wright of Austin, Susan Bailey of Alabama, Nancy and Carl Adams of Bryan, and Debbie Gill of Bryan; four brothers-in-law, Edmund and Betty Jatzlau of Giddings, Danny and Cindy Jatzlau of Giddings, Walter Jr. and Jane Jatzlau of Fedor and Bobby and Jonita Jatzlau of San Angelo; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Pallbearers were Kyle Brewer, Luke Drosche, Sawyer Stowers, Craig Biehle, David Clifford, and Patrick Jatzlau.

Honorary pallbearers were Edward Drosche and Willis Brewer.

The family would like to thank the staff of Bluebonnet Assisted Living in College Station and the nurses of Remarkable Hospice for their care and compassion.

Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington or to a charity of one’s choice.
