Judy Lynn Mills, 80, of Round Rock passed away on July 15, 2026, in Austin.
S h e w as born in Minerva to Nicholas Dyer and Mary Elizabeth Dyer, the fifth of seven children in a close-knit family, on June 21, 1946.
Judy spent 56 year s in and around Minerva, where her roots and relationships ran deep.
She graduated from Rockdale High School in 1964.
She later made her home in Medina for 17 years before spending her final seven years in Round Rock remaining near the family she cherished.
Judy was born into a closeknit family that lived just a short walk from the church she attended for most of her life. Early in life, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, a faith that became the foundation of her life.
At 17 years old, she met Billy Mills and accepted his invitation to go for a ride in his car. Their first official date was at an evening service at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. United by their shared faith and love for one another, they married two years later and began building a family and a life devoted to God and each other.
For most of her life, Judy was the “keeper of the house,” providing a warm and loving environment for her family. She created a home where faith, laughter, care, and excellent cooking were woven into everyday life.
Judy was also brilliant with numbers, making her a perfect fit for the Cameron Hospital and the Minerva Water Supply Company for approximately eight years as a bookkeeper, bringing diligence and excellence to her work.
Judy’s love of music began early and continued throughout her life. She and her identical twin sister, June, were regulars singing music specials like “Jesus Is Coming Soon.” Judy also perfected the song “You Are My Sunshine” as she sang it to all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren while rocking them to sleep.
Judy loved games—any games, all games—and she usually won. From volleyball to board games, cornhole, horseshoes, and most of all, Wheel of Fortune, she balanced play with a desire to have fun and a desire to win—because winning is more fun!
But more than anything, Judy loved those closest to her. She gave her heart and soul to her family, but most deeply to her husband Billy. He was her “everything.”
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Elizabeth Dyer; one brother, W. T. Dyer; and two sisters, Glenda Gerren and Nicky Dyer.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Billy Mills; her three children, Keith Mills, Donna Mills and Troy Mills; nine grandchildren, Shelbi Charanza, Kolbi Wehring, Kaleb Charanza, Evee White, Mary Ellen Mills, Emily Mills, Natalie Mills, Olivia Vance and Chloe Mills; as well as seven great-grandchildren.
