Steve T. Pruett, 64, of Rockdale passed away suddenly Monday, Oct. 12, 2026.

A memorial visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Bro. Bob Harris officiating.

Pruett was born Aug. 5, 1962.

Known to many as “Pruett” or “Bubba,” he was a hardworking man, a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a natural storyteller whose life was filled with adventures, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

After spending years fighting for his life, he leaves behind a lifetime of stories and cherished moments that will continue to live on through those who knew and loved him.

Many in the community knew Pruett as one of the local mobile mechanics. He was a hardworking, dependable man who took pride in his work. However, fixing cars was only part of what made him special.

Pruett never met a stranger and could turn a simple service call into hours of conversation, laughter and storytelling. Over the years, many of his customers and local business owners became more than just customers; they became lifelong friends. Through his work and his outgoing personality, he touched the lives of more people than he probably ever realized.

Pruett was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas J. Pruett Jr. and Mary Pruett.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Kim Pruett; his children, Kyle Moore, Dave Pruett and Victoria Pruett, Cynthia Burris and Taylor Burris; his grandchildren, Jacob Moore, Alexander Burge, Madison Glushko, Riley Glushko and Launa Glushko; his sister, Theresa Randolph; his niece, Katherine Crickenberger; along with many other nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends.
