Barbara Nell Roberts Springer, 85, passed away on Friday, Oct. 16, 2026.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursd ay, Oct. 22, at Phillips & Lucke y Funeral Home in Rockdale with Pastor Art Free officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.
Barbara was born on Oct. 14, 1941, in Rockdale to Ed W. and Ivy (Harris) Roberts.
She graduated from Rockdale High School.
On March 4, 1961, she ma r r ied Doug las R ay Springer at Full Gospel Church in Rockdale. Three children were born to their union.
Barbara was a devoted, loving and kind wife, mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. As a minister’s wife, she filled many roles and shared her faith through her love of music. A talented musician, she could play the piano, various organs, and the accordion. She played by ear as well as from written music.
Barbara was a wonderful cook and loved preparing meals for her family.
She loved the Lord with all her heart and treasured family vacations, especially trips to Colorado, her favorite vacation destination.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Douglas Springer; son Robert Springer and wife Cammie; great-granddaug hter Pa rker May Springer; brothers Oscar L. Caffey, Curtis Caffey and Wayne Roberts; brothersin- law, Charlie Skeeters, Rev. Henry Spillers, David Muston, Rev. Calvin Springer and Leland Springer; sisters Lottie Rae Sketters and Geneva Sue Spillers; sisters- in-law, Joyce Roberts, Doris Springer and Thelma Caffey; and nephew, Charles Ray Skeeters.
Barbara is survived by her son, Jeffrey Springer and wife Donna; daughter Melissa Johnson and husband Steve; and sisters-inlaw Dorothy Muston and Betty Springer.
She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Haley Sirera and husband Nick, Ryan Springer and wife Jill, Caleb Springer and wife Reece, Zachary Springer and wife Katelyn, and Josh Springer and wife Kenzee; great-grandchildren, Eli Springer, Ella Springer, Ruth Springer, Grayson Springer, June Springer, and Palmer Springer; and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara’s love, faith and music will remain cherished memories in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Springer, Caleb Springer, Zachary Springer, Josh Springer, Eli Springer and Grayson Springer.
