Louis Lee Weise

Louis Lee Weise, 89, of Rockdale passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, in Round Rock Ascension Hospital. A graveside service was held on Monday, Oct. 21, at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.

Ortega

Mary H. Ortega, known as “Maria Enriqueta” and “Granny,” passed away on Oct. 12, 2024. A full obituary will appear soon. Visitation with the family will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Temple, from 3 p.m. until the rosary begins at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20.

Becker

Mr. Becker Michael Eugene Becker, my Knight In Shining Armor, age 66, born in San Antonio, a loving husband of 43 years, a father, grandfather, friend, and mentor to many. On July 19, Michael peacefully passed in his sleep at our home in Rockdale to be with the Lord.

Organ

Michael Ray Organ was born on Nov. 28, 1945, to Ola Pat and Wilma Irene Organ in Thorndale. He was an only child who grew up shadowing his daddy, working on the farm.

Shore

Sandra Jean Bell Shore was born Aug. 25, 1942, in Crockett. She was adopted on Oct. 15, 1946, by her loving parents, Dock and Myrtle Bedell in Houston.

Garza

Mr. Garza Cruz Garza Jr., age 64, of Rockdale passed away on Monday, Sept. 30, 2024, in Schertz. A funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. Satur d ay, Oc t . 5, at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Stork

Mrs. Stork Evelyn Marie Stork, 88, of Rockdale passed away on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, at Baylor Scott & White in Temple. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Pastor Patrick Welton officiating.

Biar

Jerry Lynn Biar was born Nov. 26, 1948, to Gerhard and Frances Biar. He would grow up on a farm just outside of Thorndale with his parents and four siblings. Jerry would make Thorndale his home, raising a family that he loved very much.

Veda Marie Talafuse

Veda Marie Talafuse, 78, Veda Marie (Bernard) was born June 30, 1946, in Taylor to Maurice and Ethel (Henninghaus) Bernard. Veda worked in customer service for many years. Veda Bernard and Raymond Talafuse were married May 27, 1998, in Cameron.

Swift

Dr. Leroy V. Swift Jr. was born Aug. 11, 1936, to his parents, Leroy Swift Sr. and Juanita Long-Swift. He went on to be with the Lord on Sept. 5, 2024, at the age of 88.
