Cowboy Church hosts celebration

Milam County Cowboy Church will hold a Western Heritage Celebration on Saturday November 8 from 2 to 5 p.m. Activities inc lude horse rides, hay rides, fun booths, drinks and music.

The Thursday Reading Club will host First Friday Coffee this Friday, Nov. 7, at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The club will be honoring the late Dr. Lucile Estell with a special collection of her personal books, as she was a member of the club.

SLEC secures $450M to advance gas plant

Sandow Lakes Energ y Company (“SLEC”) announced it has received a $450 million secured equipment financing loan from Macquarie Asset Management to advance the development of its 1,200 megawatt Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant at Sandow Lakes in Lee County.

Rockdale ISD’s Children & Teens Winter Coat & Hoodie Drive is being held through Nov. 12. Drop off locations: • Every Rockdale ISD campus. • St. John’s United Methodist Church (Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 12-noon). • Rising Star Baptist Church (Sunday mornings only).

Election results

All 17 of the Texas Constitutional amendments passed in Milam County voting according to Milam County Clerk Jodi Morgan, although she did qualify the results as “unoffi cial.” Early voting numbers and election day voting numbers were fairly close with election day voting taking the lead.
