Rockdale’s sales tax report still outpacing last year’s

The sales tax returns for Rockdale from the state comptroller’s office continue to hold a two-digit lead over numbers from the same time last year, according to May figures released by the comptroller’ office.

Two arrested for felonies

A 21-year-old Rockdale man was arrested Friday at 2:26 a.m. by officer Zachary Krejci. The man was arrested on Milam County warrants for bond forfeiture/possession of controlled substance (less than 1 gram) and bond surrender/possession of controlled substance (1-4 grams).

• Wednesday, 11:03 a.m., Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department, along with two officers, responded for traffic control for a wide load coming through town. • Wednesday, 5:09 p.m. Gause VFD responded to US 79 and CR 347 for a grass fire in the ditch • Friday, 4:22 a.m.
