Renaissance Estates moves into new facility

Renaissance Estates & Rehabilitation has made the big move and couldn’t be more excited about it. “It feels amazing,” said Laura Kunka, who is an owner along with Michael Bumpass, of the new facility on US 79.

Rockdale chief, officer in right place at right time

Police Chief Jerry Meadors and officer Dillan Ford were where they were meant to be Oct. 8. “Officer Ford and I were both standing in dispatch when the 911 call came in,” Meadors said in his office Monday. On the calling end was a voice that sounded pretty frantic saying, “Send help. Bee attack.

Milam County 4-H members made a bit of history Oct. 3 when they won at the first United Livestock Show at the Heart O’ Texas Fairgrounds in Waco.

The Milam County 4-H Awards Banquet is held each year to honor those 4-H members who have excelled in their specific field(s) of interest throughout the year. These young men and women work hard to achieve various levels of accomplishment at the county, district, state and national levels.

Helping your student plan for life after high school

Ask any 7-year-old what they want to be when they grow up, and there are generally no limits to the answers. Superheroes, professional sports players, doctors, lawyers, firefighters, astronauts are all common responses.

School district buys four used buses The Rockdale Board of Trustees approved the purchase of four 2018 International Carpenter buses from Franklin ISD for the purchase price of $254,758 with a five-year loan from Citizens National Bank.

Four felony arrests made in past week

Rockdale police made four felony arrests over the past week with one of them involving a minor. The 15-year-old was arrested on a warrant for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle on Oct. 14.

• Tuesday, 5:34 p.m. — Milano VFD responded to a call for a fire about a half mile from the 600 block of CR 237, but found that it was an unreported controlled burn. • Thursday, 6:42 p.m.— The Rockdale VFD put out a grass fire in the 1200 block of North FM 908. • Friday, 5:13 p.m.
