The Milam County Sheriff’s Department, along with Cameron police raided what was termed an “illegal gaming room” at the Milam Plaza Shopping Center in Cameraon on Friday. Sheriff Chris White said authorities seized numerous gambling machines and over $9,000 in cash. One arrest was made.

Rockdale Police made seven felony arrests during the past week as follows: • Gina Marie Cavazos, 49, Rockdale, possession of controlled substance (less than one gram), in custody on $5,000 bond.

Here is the Milam County Jail Log for June 2-8. Jail logs list all persons charged with offenses through the county jail docket. Charges may change during the process. Persons are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION

The Central Texas Food Bank returned to the KC Hall parking lot Thursday for the first of two twice-monthly visits in June. The Thursday distribution served 599 individuals in 253 households, according to Pam Warren, spokesperson. Social distancing was observed and workers wore masks.

Pack Pals and Crossroads Bible Church distribute meals Crossroads Bible Church, in collaboration with Pack Pals, will begin distributing meals every Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. while supplies last. Families will receive a week’s worth of meals for each child in the family.
