HERE'S THE NUMBER FOR WEDNESDAY COVID-19 TESTING IN MILANO

  County Judge Steve Young, as promised, released information Monday morning telling residents how to sign up for Wednesday morning's C0VID-19 testing in Milano. He said:  " Free testing for the virus will be conducted this Wednesday, April 29, at the Milano Fire Station from 9 a.m. to  5 p.m.

'MINI-GRADUATIONS' FOR RHS STUDENTS

Noting “we’re just as disappointed as they are,” Supt. Dr. Denise Monzingo told The Reporter Saturday the Rockdale ISD plans to stage “mini-graduations” across several days for graduating RHS seniors and their parents and cap if off with a “stay in your vehicles” parade on graduation night, May 29.

UPDATE: FREE COVID-19 SCREENING WEDNESDAY

  There's free drive-through COVID-19 testing set for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday (April 29) at the Milano VFD Fire Station.   And retail businesses—following guidelines issued by Gov. Greg Abbott—can re-open today (Friday, April 24) in a limited way as drive-up or delivery establishments.

A blood drive scheduled for Thursday at the KC Hall is still on, accord ing to the A merican Red Cross. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tatiana Olivares of Rockdale is blood program leader. It won’t necessarily be a walk-in drive as in the past and you can probably guess why.

It’s bad news. Milam County recorded its first death from the COVID-19 Pandemic Monday morning as a county resident died in a Temple hospital. County Judge Steve Young identified the victim only as a “woman under 50” who was hospitalized on Friday and tested positive for the deadly virus.

RHS is still tops in Milam

Rockdale High School is the best high school in Milam County for the second straight year. That’s the opinion of U.S. News & World Report which has released its annual rankings of American High Schools. Rockdale was No. 636 in Texas and 7,562 nationally.
