Two hurt on US 77

Both drivers were hurt in an accident last Wednesday on US 77 north of the County Road 312 intersection south of Rockdale, according to the Department of Public Safety.

Appreciation plaques were bestowed Saturday before the annual Fair Youth Livestock Auction by the Rockdale Fair Association (RFA). Receiving plaques for their service to the Fair were Morris and Tracy Kyle, Devin Patin and Chris Kelm. Plaques were presented by Johnny Hill, RFA president.

The Rockdale Fair’s Commercial Heifer show raised at least $238,265 for Milam County 4-H and FFA youth Saturday. That was the total as of Monday afternoon, according to Cindy Hughes, RFA president, who said the books will remain open until midweek. All time record is $312,505 in 2015.
