E arlier this week the world recognized International Women’s Day, a time set aside to celebrate the incredible contributions women make in our homes, our workplaces, our communities and across society.

Save the date for home garden tour

Idid not want to get up on Monday morning even though I enjoy daylight savings time. I just wish it would have been sunny on Sunday. I have been enjoying going around the yard and seeing everything that is blooming or about to bloom.

County burn ban update, clarification

As many of you know, Milam County has been under a burn ban since February 5. A burn ban is never put in place lightly.

Mystery of the missing hubcaps

ast Wednesday I did the paper route and at one of my stops I accidentally hit a curb pretty hard. It was only after I had made a few more stops that I noticed my front driver’s side hubcap was missing. Luckily I remembered hitting the curb and found the hubcap. I put it back on so all was good.

Daylight Savings Time

In an effort to avoid the biannual clock switch in spring and fall, some well-intended critics of the time change have made the mistake of suggesting that the abolition of daylight saving time—and a return to permanent standard time—would benefit society. They are wrong.
