Employment in Milam County: Our unemployment rate in Milam County is now at 5.2% which is just under the overall State unemployment rate of 5.4%. This is an historic 1% drop in the number of those unemployed here.

In 2013, the iconic Norman Rockwell painting “Saying Grace” sold for $46 million dollars. “Saying Grace” originally appeared on the cover of The Saturday Evening Post’s 1951 Thanksgiving issue, and soon became one of Rockwell’s most beloved works. The painting is strikingly 1951.
