Right now in Central Texas there are over 44,000 jobs to be filled. Probably the most ever. However, with unemployment benefits ending for most on June 26, there will be a lot of people back in the job market. If you are interested in find a job, this is the time to do so.

4-H spotlight shines on area high school grads

During the month of May and June, we are highlighting Milam County 4-H graduates of 2021. We are so proud of these youth as they have worked very hard, for most of them, over 10 years in 4-H. They have competed in numerous competitions and have gained life skills they will use their entire life.

Summer tomato recipes: Cracker Salad and Garlic Fried

We’ve been eating some good tomatoes lately, and the ones we’re growing in the backyard will be ready soon. I’m ready for a tomato sandwich and more BLTs. I ran across this tomato salad recipe the other day and it looks good and has all the flavors of a tomato sandwich so I’m sure it’s good.

It is hard not to read God’s Word and put it into an American, First-World problem kind of worldview. I hope that makes sense. What I mean is we read the Bible and try to fit the narrative into the context of our lives.

A fairytale, but one that is absolutely true

Have you noticed that almost all fairy tales follow a very similar plot? The protagonist falls into some hopeless situation or curse on account of evil trickery and deception. The stories would end there if not for the hero, the knight in shining armor.
