Rain, this spring, has been abundant and refreshing. It may seem a little strange to be looking at Ezekiel Chapter 37 and looking at a valley full of dry bones, but here we go. The previous chapter reveals God’s plan to restore Israel, both physically and spiritually.

Our recently purchased house has a sun room. The Blonde loves it and spends a lot of time in that room which has great wicker furniture and plants, lots of plants, her new hobby. I was hanging out in this room last week and two little boys who are neighbors came walking down the street.

Memorial Day will be celebrated next Monday, May 31. In Rockdale the VFW and the American Legion will be putting up a flag display at Bridge Park to honor all the soldiers who’ve lost their lives fighting for our country. The History Channel provided some interesting information on this holiday.

I’m in the middle of a vacation. Actually a stay-cation because I’m at home. Mom and Dad left for Fredericksburg last Friday for a week to join in all of the graduation hubbub for their grandson, Will. I’m sure they needed a break from me as well.

Old tire cleanup On Saturday, June 5, Milam County will sponsor an old tire clean up day. Load up your old tires and bring them to the Milam County Precinct Three headquarters, 107 N. FM 487, Rockdale, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The sidewalk work going on downtown is supposed to be finished in front of The Reporter at the end of May and I’m starting to get very excited about our downtown changes. It’s going to look so good when it’s all done.

In yet another instance of things returning to normal, we took Mom out to eat at the Piano Bar & Steakhouse on the Friday night before Mother’s Day, and boy was it delicious. We really haven’t been going much of anywhere over the past year, especially Mom and Dad, so it was a real treat.
