Jesus is not far away

In Mark 4 Jesus gets into a boat with His squad and says, “Let us go across to the other side (of the Sea of Galilee).” That sounds good but then an epic storm comes up. The winds are described as a “hurricane” type force and the boat starts to fill up with water.

10-20-40-100 YEARS AGO 100 YEARS AGO… Following heavy rains and fed no doubt by heavier rains on the headwaters, Little River overflowed its bottoms for several days. Automobile traffic between Cameron and Rockdale was suspended during that time.

Trust God with stress

Iwas around some medical professionals the other day and the topic of stress came up. One of them asked, “How do you handle stress?” One person in the group went with the Sunday school answer and said, “They prayed the Rosary.” I’m not Catholic so that doesn’t help me.

100 YEARS AGO… The city council met in regular session and transacted routine business. Tom Marrs and Branch Lewis, two newly-elected aldermen, qualified and organization of the body for the ensuing year was effected. Marrs was elected Mayor Pro Tem.
