Right now in Central Texas there are over 44,000 jobs to be filled. Probably the most ever. However, with unemployment benefits ending for most on June 26, there will be a lot of people back in the job market. If you are interested in find a job, this is the time to do so.

During the month of May and June, we are highlighting Milam County 4-H graduates of 2021. We are so proud of these youth as they have worked very hard, for most of them, over 10 years in 4-H. They have competed in numerous competitions and have gained life skills they will use their entire life.

Our recently purchased house has a sun room. The Blonde loves it and spends a lot of time in that room which has great wicker furniture and plants, lots of plants, her new hobby. I was hanging out in this room last week and two little boys who are neighbors came walking down the street.

Memorial Day will be celebrated next Monday, May 31. In Rockdale the VFW and the American Legion will be putting up a flag display at Bridge Park to honor all the soldiers who’ve lost their lives fighting for our country. The History Channel provided some interesting information on this holiday.
