First Baptist Church to celebrate 150 years The Sesquicentennial isn’t over yet. On Sunday, Sept. 22, First Baptist Church will celebrate 150 years of faithful Christian service and ministry with a 10:30 a.m. service and a 3 p.m. service. Former pastors, staff and members will be in attendance.

PINK PARTY

Owner Michelle Marek (left) and Sandy Glaser manned the La Vie En Coco booth at Saturday's market selling hand-crafted natural soap and lotion. This booth was one of 30 others at the market which was very busy all morning long with shoppers looking for bargains and good food.

John King, Jr. posed for the camera with some cute puppies at Saturday's market where four of the pups got adopted. Rockdale Animal Rescue was also at the market with several of their dogs up for adoption.

St. John’s United Methodist Church was given the Small Church Award at the Texas Annual Conference in Houston on June 10. The church was nominated for the award by Rev. Kip Gilts. St.

4-H record book awards

Milam County 4-H works all throughout their 4-H year to complete record books and one day prepare for scholarships. These record books include their 4-H project experience, 4-H leadership and community service, non-4-H involvement (awards, leadership and service) and college preparedness.

Best practice for ant control
