A new workshop series coming to Rockdale helps mourners transform grief into joyful living. Walking the Mourners Path workshops runs February-March 2026. Attendees share their personal grief stories in a series of eight 90-minute small group sessions shepherded by commissioned facilitators.

100 YEARS AGO Rockdale is to have a Community Christmas Tree again this year. The ladies of the Parent-Teacher Association are responsible for the movement, and the assistance of various civic bodies has been enlisted.

100 YEARS AGO The game of football between the Boy Scouts of Rockdale and Cameron, played at Fair Park Friday afternoon, deserved a better attendance than it received. Those football fans who failed to go because they didn’t believe they would see much, missed a genuine football game.

Milano Xmas parade set for Dec. 13th

We only had Rockdalians for Thanksgiving plus niece Kennedy and her boyfriend Derek and that's all we'll have for Christmas too since Ken and Christine will be out of town, so I've tentatively decided we are having ribeyes for Christmas.

My sister, Kathy, used to love green bean casserole and she always made it and brought it to Thanksgiving along with the mashed potatoes. I honestly don’t think we have had it since she died eight years ago.
