40 YEARS AGO The setting was not really Dogpatch but it seemed that way at the Sadie Hawkins dance attended by more than 650 Milam County residents Friday night at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Attendees wore attire much like the characters of the late Al Capps Lil’ Abner comic strip.

Connect Church held a week-long day camp which was part mission trip, part outreach and part discipleship. “It was a great success as these young people served the lord and the community,” said pastor Ken Ansell.
