Summer reading club begins at the library

YARD OF THE MONTH

YARD OF THE MONTH—Rockdale Earth Day awarded the Olivares family Yard of the Month for May. Jose and Esmeralda Olivares have three children: Tatiana, age 17; Luke, age 13; and Mateo, age 5. They make yard work a family affair.

POOL TIME

POOL TIME—The sparkling pool at Veterans Memorial Park on Mistletoe Lane opened over Memorial Day weekend and it was definitely the place to be. The pool has seen lots of activity since then. Admission is only $4.

Historic Trail program offers artifacts, knowledge

21st annual MARC Ride set for June 11th

The 21st annual MARC Ride will be held on Saturday, June 11, at The Ranch. The Bad to the Bone Riders holds this benefit each year and it is the largest yearly donation received by the MARC Center.

MISS FLAME

The Milano Volunteer Fire Department crowned Vivian Simpson Miss Flame for 2022-2023. Fire chief, Travis Yoakum selected the winner. Vivian will represent Milano VFD in both the July Fourth and Christmas parades, and assist the firemen with fire-safety week at Milano Elementary.
