Celebrate Recovery meets Saturdays Rockda le Celebrate Recovery meets Saturdays from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at 1443 South FM 487. Keto support group meets Thursdays at 7 A keto support group meets at the First Baptist Church’s south entrance every Thursday at 7 p.m.

Holliman-Tuma Reunion The 91st annual Holliman- Tuma Reunion will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, at the American Legion Hall, 2534 N FM 487. A fully-catered barbecue meal with beef brisket and sausage and all the trimmings will be served at noon for $17 for adults.

Milano volleyball, cross country, and football have started the year strong and ready for a successful season. Go Eagles! The Gold Out Game is Sept. 16. T-shirts are on sale for $10 each. More than $6 of each purchase goes to support Childhood Cancer Research.

The water retaining pond at Rockdale Junior High is full after about five inches of rain over the past several days. It looks ready for swimming, fishing and water skiing after the much-need rain.

Manley Christopher (L) is the winner of Milam Touch of Love’s Canine Cuddles quilt fundraiser. The beautiful quilt was made by Diana Casario of B&D Longarm Quilting to benefit MTOL’s spay and neuter program and the ticket sales raised over $2,000.

The Rockdale High School Cross Country team held a car wash on Saturday at Cardinal Roofing and raised over $2,000 for equipment and out of town meals. Senior team member Tatiana Olivares (R) takes a $100 donation from her uncle Joe Ruelas before washing his big blue truck.
