Rockdale Police make two felony arrests, one accident reported

Rockdale Police Officers made two felony arrest during the past week including: • Christina Rene Sheppard, 38, Rockdale, was arrested by Ofc. Lentz for theft of property ($2,500 to $30,000), possession of a controlled substance (less than 1 gram), and a bond surrender from Washington County.

Responded to: • Pear Street at East Cameron Avenue for a vehicle that hit a structure on Jan. 12 at 3:31 p.m. • 2317 East US 79 for hay bales on fire on Jan. 13 at 2:12 p.m.

MARC seeks info for 60th anniversary

The MARC Center will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2025. The center was founded in 1965 by a group of parents, interested citizens and community leaders. The MARC Board wants to find as many of the family members of the original organizers as possible. The list includes: H.D.

Blacksmith demo a hit on Saturday

Rockdale Historical Society and the Rockdale I&GN Depot Museum presented an old-fashioned blacksmith demonstration by local expert Abe Doss on Saturday at the depot. More than 30 people came to watch.
