Liberty community homecoming July 5 Everyone is invited to the annual Liberty Homecoming Picnic and Cemetery Meeting on Sunday, July 5. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with the cemetery meeting starting at 11. The picnic lunch will begin shortly after the cemetery meeting.

Decorating for America’s 250th anniversary

Each year on July 4, many Americans are in a celebratory mood as they prepare for all the fanfare involved with Independence Day festivities. But Independence Day 2026 stands to be extra special since it marks America’s 250th birthday.

Milam CASA seeks volunteers

Post Oak Savannah GCD hosts 12th annual summit

Event will focus on questions locals are asking MILANO — Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District will host its 12th annual Groundwater Summit from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at Caldwell Civic Center, 103 W. TX-21 in Caldwell. The 2026 summit was shaped by public input.

Rockdale celebrates freedom!

Friday's Juneteenth Parade (above) went off without a hitch and after the parade moved through downtown, it ended up at Sumuel Park where there was music, food and games as well as a water slide to celebrate freedom, community and culture.
