Today we had the opportunity to go to Fedor in Lee County to the home place to take some pictures for our daughter’s High School Graduation. Every chance we get it’s fun to get away. I am a history buff, so it’s fun to uncover old treasure, even though it is generally covered in rust.

Job fair for all Tuesday in Patterson Center

Vaccination approved for those at least 12 years old

Children at least 12 years old are now eligible for vaccinations, after the CDC  approved the Pfizer vaccine for younger people. Fully vaccinated children do not have to quarantine when exposed to an infected person.  The county is now has 31.4% of Milam County residents fully vaccinated. About 9.

'Beginning' sessions planned at church

San Gabriel Baptist Church will host a Christian education DVD series Wednesday evenings beginning May 12 continuing through May and into June. The series is "Beginnings:  Exploring Biblical Creation" by Eric Hovind.

Man arrested in fatal shooting near Rockdale

Israel Ballester has been charged with murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after shootings early Saturday morning south of Rockdale, according to Milam County Sheriff Mike Clore.

Rockdale, Thorndale elect officials

A few of the residents of the cities of Rockdale and Thorndale elected council members Saturday. Rockdale voters, 83 in all, selected Scott Starnes to fill the east side seat that was up for grabs in the vote.
