County officials set public hearing in hopes of big return

Milam County commissioners voted to hold a June 28 public hearing on the creation of three Milam County Reinvestment Zones. The zones are necessary in granting tax abatements to entice three solar energy ventures into coming into the county and creating an $800 million investment.

People vaccinated combined with those that have been infected with COVID-19 and survived are pushing up the immunity level in the county. “I am happy to report that our herd immunity in Milam County is now at 38 percent,” said Milam County Judge Steve Young in his daily email report.

Rockdale officers make felony arrests

Rockdale officer Zachary Krejci made two felony arrests during the past week while officer Jeremiah Harden made one. Krejci arrested a 17-yearold Lexington resident on a warrant for credit/debit card abuse April 21 at 9:32.
