Officers make 5 arrests during last week’s snowy conditions

Police made five arrests over the past week, but none of them were on felony charges, but included resisting arrest, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct abuse/ threat, disorderly conduct obscene language and public intoxication.

FIRE CALLS

• Tuesday, 8:51 a.m. The Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 300 block of West Cameron Ave. for a one-vehicle wreck that was blocking the roadway. No injuries reported. • Tuesday, 4:08 p.m.

Here is the Milam County Jail Log for Feb. 16-22. Jail log lists all people charged with offenses through the country jail in Cameron. Charges may change during the process. Persons are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.

Tanglewood VFD to host fish fry March 13 The Tanglewood VFD will host a drive through fish fry fundraiser from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 13. Plates are $10 for adults and $5 for children and will include fish, French fries, hush puppies, coleslaw, green beans and a dessert.

St. Paul BBQ fundraiser scheduled Sunday THORNDALE—St Paul Lutheran Church and School in Thorndale will hold it’s annual barbecue brisket meal and live auction fund-raiser from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Thorndale Firemen’s Hall on FM 486 North.

Four members of the Electric Reliability Council Of Texas board members have plan to resign, including the chairman and vice-chairman:, and a fifth person who had applied for an opening on the board has withdrawn his application, according to a report from the Texas Tribune.

Train cars burst into flames after hit by 18-wheeler

An 18-wheeler ran into a BNSF freight train with several cars bursting into flame around 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday, according to a news release from BNSF Railway. The train carrying mixed freight had 13 of its 110 cars derail upon impact south of Cameron at the CR 229 railroad crossing.
