DPS working 18-wheeler-train crash

 Currently the Department of Public Safety (DPS) is working a crash involving an 18-wheeler and train on FM 2095 in Milam County.  The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is assisting in detouring traffic around the site.

Milam County vaccination upcoming clinics

The county will run a second round 300 dose clinic in Cameron at the former Cameron hospital Thursday. This will primarily be for those vaccinated  Jan. 28. There will be a first round 400 dose clinic in Rockdale at the former Rockdale Medical Clinic on Friday.

PCR active COVID-19 cases down to 16; antigen down to 7

The testing was light in Rockdale on Monday. The county tested 15 individuals with six positive results. So far, the county has tested 3,149 individuals with 942 positive infections which is a 29% positivity rate. Testing will resume Wednesday at the Milano VFD from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Boil water notice has been lifted

The city of Rockdale has lifted the boil water notice as of today. The city send water samples for testing and the lab reported back today that the water is potable.

More COVID-19 vaccination clinics planned

There are 15 new PCR cases and 45 discharged PCR cases and 36 new probable and 63 discharged probable.  There are no new COVID-19 related deaths and no new hospital admissions, County Judge Steve Young reported in a email Friday.

Water for elderly, disabled without drinking water

The Rockdale Police Department has received a  limited supply of bottled drinking water. This water will be delivered only to elderly and disabled individuals who are currently without drinking water.  No walk-ins allow, one has to get on a delivery list.

Power outages around Rockdale

As a result of increased generation and stable demand, Oncor has been able to cease controlled or rotating outages, according to a news release from the company.

Young declares county in state of emergency

County Judge Steve Young has signed an order declaring Milam County in a state of emergency. Gov. Greg Abbott declared a state of emergency for all 254 counties of the state due to the extreme historic cold weather.
