In the past week the county has tested 581 people with 139 testing positive for a rate countywide of 24 percent. There were also four people admitted to hospitals Tuesday.

The late Buddy Oney was a motorcycle enthusiast who was all about helping and giving. “He loved people and by that I mean he would give you the shirt off his back,” said Janet Svrcek, one of his daughters, before the start of the 15th annual Buddy Oney Toy Run on Saturday.

Stop leads to wreck, felony arrest

A traffic stop in which the driver of a white Pontiac took off after an officer had stopped the car ended in a wreck at the intersection of Murray and Miller on Thursday. Police stopped the car on Wilcox when the driver took off and turned on Hillyer, then down Williams before crashing.

Milam County COVID-19 rate at 24%

There were 68 individuals tested in Rockdale with 19 positive results.  In the past 7 days,  Milam County has tested 581 individuals with 139 positive results making a positivity rate of 24%.  In addition, there are 16 PCR infections and 7 probable infections to report in the county today.

COVID-19 cases at record high level

There are now ninety-three active COVID-19 cases in Milam County.  "This is ten more than our previous record high of eighty-three.  Today we have eleven new PCR cases and eight new probable cases to report.  Nine cases were discharged, including six PCR cases and three probable cases.
