POLICE REPORT

Police arrested a 14-year-0ld Rockdale resident on two felony charges the past Wednesday. The teen was charged with assault causing bodily injury to a family member and assault on a public servant.

FIRE CALLS

• Thursday, 11:52 a.m., the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department along with the Milam County Sheriff’s Office and AMR responded to a one-vehicle accident on U.S. 79 near the turn to CR 306. • Saturday, 10:41 p.m., the Thorndale Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 400 block of East U.S.

GRAND JURY INDICTMENTS

• Crispin Gonzales, Jr., 29, Rockdale, 3rd degree felony, bail jumping – fail to appear. • Rene Prez, 38, Rockdale, 2nd degree felony, aggravated assault – serious bodily injury. • Terrance Earl Smith, 24, Houston, state jail felony, theft $2,500 - $30k.

COVID-19 cases continue to rise

Another twenty new active cases were reported in Milam County on Wednesday; seven new PCR cases and thirteen new probable cases.  Nine PCR cases were discharged, and five probable cases were discharged.  No one was admitted to a hospital and no one was discharged.

COVID-19 cases in the county jumped by  twenty-four new active cases to report in Milam County on Monday. There are twelve new PCR cases and twelve new probable cases.  Four PCR cases were discharged, and one probable case was discharged.
