Food drive to be held Saturday

Milano 4-H Club is participating in the Milam County One Day 4-H service project which is a food drive. Let me know if you have any non-perishable food items and/or canned goods you would like to donate prior to Saturday.

Gause volleyball and football teams had games this week. Friday they will have school pictures taken. Goodness, we will get our first school picture of granddaughter Addy. Monday is a staff development/student holiday and Tuesday there will be a volleyball game with St. Mary’s in Temple.

Early voting set to begin Tuesday at four locations

Early voting for the Nov. 3 general election begins Tuesday (Oct. 13) and continues until Oct. 30. Sites are: • Rockdale Civic Center, 609 Mill—Oct. 13-16, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Oct. 19 and 26, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Oct. 20 and 27, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Oct. 21-23, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 28-30, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Milam extension agent gets national awards at confab

Micah Holcombe, county extension agent-family and community health was honored recently at the National Extension Association for Family and Consumer Sciences 86th annual session. She received the NEAFCS Distinguished Service Award at the virtual conference held Sept. 14-16.

HERO K-12 program brings rewards to students for good behavior

Rockdale Junior High is excited about the progress our students are making in year two implementation of our campuswide intervention and support services, HERO K-12. We are consistently utilizing HERO to yield greater impacts on student behavior in the classroom and across the campus.

ONE NEW CASE WEDNESDAY

From County Judge Steve Young Wednesday night: Wednesday we have one new PCR case and three antigen cases to report.  Those being monitored were increased substantially by fourteen.  No one was admitted to a hospital. We tested six individuals with one positive result.

TUESDAY REPORT: TWO NEW CASES

 From County Judge Steve Young Tuesday night: Tuesday we had two new PCR cases and two new probable cases to report in Milam County.  One person was admitted to an area hospital as well.  We tested nineteen individuals in Thorndale  with two positive results.

SIX NEW CASES

From County Judge Steve Young Monday evening: We have six new PCR cases and four new probable cases.  One person was admitted to an area hospital for treatment.   Twenty-four people were tested in Rockdale Monday with four positive results.
