Stolen vehicle call nets two arrests

Rockdale police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle Friday evening and ended up making two arrests on several charges. Police Chief Thomas Harris said the vehicle was reported stolen in the Lexington area and was driven to Rockdale.

FIRE CALLS

One fire call was reported through the Rockdale Police Department dispatch during the past week. That came at 8:13 p.m. Friday when the Rockdale VFD responded to a report of a structure fire at Climate Control on US 79 west of town.

Fundraisers postponed

Some local fundraisers have been put on hold due to the growing concerns and guidelines over the COVID-19 virus situation. The Milano Volunteer Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary has postponed their spring garage sale that was to have taken place April 3-5.

  Gause School is closed until at least April 3. Student packets go home Friday, March 27, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Lunch and next day’s breakfast is 11 to 12-noon Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.

COVID tests awaited for area residents
