Charles Glenn Towery, 92, of Thorndale, formerly of Pflugerville, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2022.
Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at Phillips & Lucke y Funeral Home in Rockdale with Pastor Scott Schaller of Trinity Lutheran Church in Taylor officiating. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
Mr. Towery was the only child of A.C. and Laila (Catchings) Towery.
He graduated from Rockdale High School in 1950.
He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1952, reaching the rank of corporal at the time of his honorable discharge in 1954.
Mr. Towery worked at Texas Parks & Wildlife for 26 years until his retirement.
After his retirement, he became a licensed barber.
He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner.
Mr. Towery was a ham radio operator for a number of years. He enjoyed woodworking, photography, oil painting, flying and he could fix just about anything.
Survivors are his wife of 68 years, Mary (Hyde) Towery; his children, Darell Towery and wife Lori of Thorndale, Peggy Redmond and husband Larry of Hutto, Sherry Williams and husband Flyn of Canyon Lake, Susie Biscamp of Thorndale; his grandchildren, Ashleigh Moehling and husband Michael, Melanie Kunkel and husband Michael, Jennifer McDaniel and husband Casey, Hunter and Reagan Williams, and Taylor Biscamp Schwartz; his great-grandchildren, Haleigh and Marleigh Moehling, Claire and Klein Kunkel, Case and Crew McDaniel , Cash and Abi lene Schwartz; and a brotherin- law, Kenneth Biehle and wife, Darlene of Thorndale.
Pa l lbearers w i l l be Michael Moehling, Michael Kunkel, Casey McDaniel, Mike Towery, Ronald Rummel and Troy Biehle.
Honorary pallbearers are Hunter Williams, Flyn Williams, Larry Redmond and Tregg Towery.
