On Friday evening, Thorndale scrimmaged with Class 3A Riesel at Bulldog Stadium.
The Thorndale Bulldogs have some more dogs coming over this Friday when they host the Dawson Bulldogs.
Competing with Lexington’s summer track team the LC Express, four Rockdale girls left the Junior Olympics in Humble with medals.
Ki’ara-Ann Jones placed in the top five of the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and the 4x100-meter relay, while Tatyana Everage placed in the shot put.
With just two starters on offense and four on defense returning from the 2020 Tiger football team, many of those new players had their first time facing varsity competition this past Friday in Jarrell, where Rockdale had it’s first scrimmage of the season.
In what was their first tournament of the season, the Lady Tiger volleyball team left Franklin with a first place finish after fighting through close matches throughout their two-day stint in Robertson County.
On Friday, Reagyn Trahan announced that she plans to continue her softball career at Hill College, just north of Waco.
The Thorndale senior said that the decision to head to the Hillsboro school was basically a no-brainer.
“My decision to go to Hill was the easiest decision I have made,” she said.
Last week, Tiger and Lady Tiger distance runners began preparing for the 2021 season under fifth-year coach Cheryl Meuth.
“We have a very exciting group of runners,” Meuth told The Reporter this week.
For more than a week now, the Rockdale High School cross country team has been running around town and getting back into gear for the 2021 season.
Although both teams missed out on the regional meet last season, both the Tigers and Lady Tigers only lost a total of two seniors.
