Herzog has top jump in USA

Thorndale High School senior Michael Herzog has the top triple jump mark in the U.S. after making a height of 49-5 at the North Texas Jumps Showcase in Weatherford in late December. “It feels pretty special to have the best jump in the nation right now,” Herzog said.

Young Eagles looking up in new year

Over the course of nearly two months, the Milano Eagle basketball team has gone 3-8. However, what the winloss column doesn’t say is that facing challenging competition on the court has been an ongoing theme for the boys this season.

RHS first track practice Monday

According to Rockdale High School head track and field coach Lewis Edmonson, the Tigers and Lady Tigers are holding their first practices of the 2021 season. Edmonson also released the official schedule for this upcoming season via Twitter on Tuesday evening.

Taylor-born K.C. Jones dies at 88

On Friday, NBA Hall of Famer and former Taylor resident K.C. Jones passed away at age 88 in Connecticut after battling Alzheimer’s disease for several years.

MHS freshmen Kadance Koenig was a difference maker for the Lady Eagles on Monday during their 33-28 win over Burton. The victory was revenge after Milano fell to the Lady Panthers 24-16 on Tuesday, Dec. 15. The Lady Eagles begin district play on Tuesday, Jan. 5, when they host Granger.

Dansby commits to UMHB
