The Rockdale High School relay teams faced-off with Cameron once more before the upcoming district track meet and trailed by seconds at the Bumblebee Relays in Little River-Academy last Thursday.

Lady Tigers can’t catch a break

The Rockdale Lady Tiger softball team fell to 5-6 in District 19-3A play on Friday with a 7-2 loss to Little River-Academy where they were unable to overcome errors and a pair of home runs hit by the Lady Bees.

Area all-district honors announced Five Rockdale High School girl soccer players were named to the all-district 26-4A teams by coaches. Senior goalie Kaylee Criswell was named to the first team and defender Elysia Ruelas was named to the second team.

Tiger win over Eagles paced by hitting surge

The Rockdale Tigers put the bat on the ball in a 12-4 win on Tuesday night at home against Lexington. “We hit the baseball well tonight,” said John Hooser, RHS head baseball coach. “We didn’t make mistakes in the field either and that was the difference.

Historic season

The Rockdale Tigers first ever playoff game on Thursday night at Tiger Stadium came down to the final minutes before District 25-4A champion Bellville scored two goals in three minutes to take the contest 2-0. “I can’t put it into words,” said Gilberto Rodriguez, Rock-dale High School soccer coach.

RHS fares well at Texas Relays

One of six Rockdale High School athletes advanced to the finals in the 92nd Clyde Littlefield University of Texas Relays one of the top track and field meets in the country. Will Storey ran a 10.89 to place eighth in the 100-meter dash during the invitational tournament.

Lady Tiger softball team gets their groove back

The Lady Tigers got their second win of the week defeating Lexington 9-2 at home on Friday evening, a team they were 10 run-ruled by three weeks earlier. “I think the atmosphere of being at home is something that helped us,” said Erin Palmer, Rockdale High School softball coach.
