RHS announces sports honors

Rockdale High School is doing things a little different this year concerning a “sports banquet” which is really a smart move.

Tigers drop Malakoff in two, ready to take on West

“Oh, what a night” is what they sang back in the day and it’s what Tiger Nation was singing as Rockdale swept Malakoff in two games Friday night. The Tigers traveled back to Madisonville to play on the artificial turf against Malakoff and everyone thought this team might be a challenge.

Bulldogs shut out Burton in area play

The Thorndale Bulldogs claimed an area championship last week by defeating Burton in two games. Both were shutouts with Thorndale winning game one 4-0 and game two 2-0. Players of the game in the first game were Jayden Clawson, Jaxson Eschberger and Kaden Kovar.

Lady Dogs advance to regional semifinals

The Thorndale Lady Dogs advance to the regional semifinals after defeating rival Thrall in two games last week in Hutto. Thorndale beat the Lady Tigers on Wednesday 5-4 and again on Thursday 5-1. COMING UP— Thorndale now faces Weimar in a best-of-three series in the regional semifinals.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS

REGIONALS—Rockdale Tiger sophomores Brody Willard (R) and Mason Lillard (L) recently played in the Class 3A Region Three Tennis Championships. This doubles team fell 5-7, 6-4, 6-7. These young men are fearless and full of energy.
