CLASS OF 1969

The RHS Class of 1969 held their 55th class reunion on October 12 at the Patterson Civic Center. There were 34 attendees present (in no particular order) Sue NcNiel Davenport, K.K.

Food for the soul

Pastor Steve Gaines of Bel levue Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee recently shared on Twitter (X) that one way you can tell if you’re old or young is by your view of taking a nap. His theory goes like this: When you are young you fight against taking a nap.

The Great Pumpkin

Especially as a child t r ick- or - t reat ing, then as a young parent helping my small son with his costume, then as an older adult giving candy to doorbell-ringing goblins and princesses, I have always enjoyed the celebration of Halloween.

OPENING DAY

Saturday, October 19, the official opening and dedication of the “Walk the Rancheria Grande” in Milam County took place at Cedar Hill Nature Preserve. Landowners, Joyce and Mike Conner and Elaine and Gene Baumann were present with family members.

100 YEARS AGO… The Rockdale High Tigers outclassed the Thorndale High eleven last Friday at straight football, the score being 34 to 0.

Is it fall yet? It was 51 degrees this morning. I had to go back in the house and put my warm bathrobe on over my shorts and t-shirt. Is it now 92 degrees while I'm writing this? It is. So completely normal for Texas, but I'm still giving you fall salad recipes.
