I’m being a Grinch

I’m not a fan of the holiday season. I’m a cross between Scrooge and the Grinch. I’m not bragging, I’m confessing. That movie Peewee’s Big Adventure will probably best describe this year as we do something new at Thanksgiving. Our youngest daughter, Klaire, is hosting.

Springfield to celebrate 152 anniversary Nov. 17 Springfield Missionary Baptist Church will hold its 152nd anniversary at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17. The speaker will be Rev. A.L. Watson, Sr. from First Baptist Church in Taylor.

The East Bel Taphouse was the place to be for Rockdale Rotary Clubs second annual Pinto for Polio fundraiser on Sunday afternoon from 1-4 p.m.

Milam County CPS seeks Christmas sponsors

Milam County Child Protective Services Board is requesting help to sponsor a child for Christmas. The number of abused and neglected children in state conservatorship (Foster Care and Kinship Care) has increased once again.

Eastside conversation

Eastside City Council Representative David Melton held the second on his Eastside Conversations at Moon Brew Coffee Company on Saturday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. to talk about topics relevant to eastside residents. About 20 people showed up for the event to give input and enjoy refreshments.

CLASS OF 1969

The RHS Class of 1969 held their 55th class reunion on October 12 at the Patterson Civic Center. There were 34 attendees present (in no particular order) Sue NcNiel Davenport, K.K.
