RCS food pantry Rockdale Christian Services operates a food pantry at 224 West Cameron Avenue, open 10 a.m. until noon weekdays. Donations of non-perishable food items are welcome, especially one-pound bags of rice, pinto beans, macaroni and cheese, canned soups and peanut butter.

Milam teams win at consumer contest

Congratulations to our 4-H Consumer Decision Making project members who competed at Central Texas Consumer Contest on Saturday. Here are the results: Juniors (12 teams, 39 individuals) Individuals—5th, Breleigh Glaser.

Railroad Museum sets fund raiser

CAMERON—The Milam County Railroad Museum’s 3-by-5-foot “Alpine Ski Resort “N” scale layout is complete and someone is going to take it home.

Tunes-n-pasta

Chamber spotlight

The i-Tigers organization at the Rockdale ISD has been named “Organization in the Spotlight” by the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce.

FULL HOUSE

And there were probably a few lucky enough to draw a full house during the evening Saturday as the Rockdale Rotary Club hosted its annual Casino Night at The Ranch. The event drew a packed crowd of players. It’s a major fund raiser each year for the Rock-dale organization.

MVFD chili supper set for February 15th

The Milano Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual chili supper on Feb. 15 at the fire department on Hwy. 79. Serving will begin at 4:30 p.m. until sold out. Chili, drink and dessert will cost $10 for adults, $4 for children 12 and under, with children age 3 and under eating for free.
