MHS sophomore Hill named ‘Poetry Out Loud’ finalist

Evie Hill, a sophomore at Milano High School, has advanced to the Poetry Out Loud state finals! After winning our local competition and competing in the state semi-finals, she has been selected as one of only 10 students in Texas to compete at the state level.

Rockdale MDD talks growth

Rockdale City Planner Ben Blanchard gave a report on city growth to the Rockdale MDD (RMDD) Board on Monday night stating that the Cornerstone Subdivision has 51 new building permits approved for continued housing there.

Fair Assn. scholarships available for area seniors

Milam County high school seniors who have shown projects and have met the eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply for scholarships from the Rockdale Fair Association. The association has awarded over $10,000 annually in scholarship money to further their education.
