He is coming!

We have overdosed on Hallmark Christmas movies at our house. A friend shared the other day in a social media post that, “Basically, Hallmark has made 437 Christmas movies using 17 actors, five locations and three different plots.” That’s truth.

Where’s the spirit of joy? ‘I’m it!’

“Joyful, all ye nations rise, Join the triumph of the skies; With the angelic host proclaim, Christ is born in Bethlehem!’ ” The Christmas carol, “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” first appeared in 1739.

Big crowd for Christmas at the Kay

A packed house showed up for the annual Christmas at the Kay event on Sunday afternoon sponsored by the Communities in Concert Band and the Matinee Musical Club with special guests, the choir from Rising Star Baptist Church.

Lots of Saturday events to celebrate Christmas in Rockdale

Rockdale Chamber of Commerce has made sure that this Saturday will be a busy day celebrating Christmas. Saturday morning at The Patterson Center the annual Breakfast with Santa will kick off from 8 to 10 a.m.

Elvis entertained members of Rockdale Senior Center on Monday morning and also enjoyed a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Elvis sang Christmas tunes and his hits which was enjoyed by all, possibly none more so than Dolores Barber, above, in the striped shirt.

Annual Oney Toy Run Saturday The 19th annual Buddy Oney Toy Run will be held this Saturday, Dec. 7, with registration starting at 9 a.m. at The Ranch. This annual event raises money for several different organizations to provide Christmas presents for Milam County’s less fortunate children.

Five arrested on felony warrants, one traffic accident reported

Rockdale Police Officers made five felony arrests during the past week including: • A 16-year-old juvenile, Temple, was arrested by Ofc. Wal for evading arrest with vehicle and unauthorized use of motor vehicle. • Gabriel Marques Ross, 20, Rockdale, was arrested by Ofc.
