Rockdale PD makes three felony arrests in seven-day period

Rockdale Police Officers made three felony arrests during the past week including: • Terry Sloniker, 35, Rockdale, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (less than 1 gram) and possession of marijuana.

Responded to: • Near the intersection of West US 79i and CR 311 for an 18-wheeler rollover in a ditch with possible injuries on Nov. 14 at 10:51 p.m. • North FM 908 at a private road for a two-vehicle accident at 4:51 p.m. Nov. 15.

Milano grad retires from Army

Chief Warrant Officer Chris Barnes is retiring from the Army this Monday, Nov. 18, after 23 years of service. Barnes is a graduate of Milano High School, Class of 2001. “At the time of his graduation, I was a single mom and had three younger kids.

Rockdale troop wins first place at Night Ops event

The Southern Plains Region of Trail Life USA held its fourth annual Night Ops event just outside of Calvert on Nov. 2. All year long, Trail Life troops’ eleven to seventeen- year-old members practice outdoor skills, including fire-building, knot-tying, compass navigation, first aid and much more.
