Proposed .85 tax increase for 2024-25 city budget

At a special called meeting Monday night, the Rockdale City Council discussed the proposed 2024-2025 budget in a workshop. The proposed budget will have a tax increase from .8015 to no higher than .85 for every $100 valuation on real estate.

The Feed Rockdale program is run by the First Baptist Church’s Pastor Matt Higginbotham and his wife Danyelle who prepare, pack and deliver hot lunches for kids up to age 18. And they’ve been doing it for seven years. This service is free and there are no requirements other than age.

MISSION TRIP

Connect Church recently sent eight people to help Vine Church in Mt. Pleasant with their re-plant efforts as they prepare to launch in mid-September. “We went door to door sharing the gospel, praying and inviting neighborhoods in Mt. Pleasant to a block party.

“For God will bring ever y deed into judgment, including every secret thing” (Ecclesiastes 12:14). Most everyone enjoys a good spy thriller, which always involves a secret agent—someone who seems to work for one nation but in reality works for another.
