MDD taps feasibility study for hotels

At Monday night’s Rockdale Municipal Development District (RMDD) board meeting Economic Director Jim Gibson let the board know that a national hotel chain, Cobblestone Hotels, had requested information about coming to Rockdale.

The Ranch and Friends of MARC sponsored a concert featuring Milam County’s own Brooke Graham on Saturday night raising over $16,000 which will go toward the purchase of a new 12-passenger van for the center.

Two felony arrests made by Rockdale PD, three accidents listed

Rockdale Police Officers made two felony arrests during the past week including: • Jeremy Todd Brown, 43, Bastrop, was arrested by Ofc. Lentz for possession of a controlled substance (under 1 gram), driving with license invalid and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

Rockdale VFD Responded to: • 2326 CR 423 along with Thorndale VFD to assist Cameron VFD with a grass fire on Sept. 17 at 2:09 p.m. • US 79 at US 77 for a two-vehicle accident on Sept. 18 at 12:21 p.m.

Auction items for Brooke Graham concert Saturday

The Ranch and Friends of MARC are sponsoring a Brooke Graham concert to help MARC purchase a new 15-passenger van to replace the 12-year-old van currently owned by the center. Other featured artists are Joel Lehman and Marc Durham. The concert begins at 7 p.m. Saturday.
