Taking home gift baskets for participation in Rockdale's Sesquicentennial Historic Walking Tours are Esperanza Rivera and Kristina Loyd with Meggins Scheel. The tours were held on Saturday, July 13.

BINGO PARTY

MARC held their annual bingo party last Tuesday and every consumer went home a winner with baskets filled with snacks, grooming items, crazy socks, gift certificates and arts and crafts.

One will be at Rockdale Community Market which is held in Cardinal Roofing's parking lot. This fundraiser will benefi t Rockdale youth football and cheer. Homemade burgers are on the menu and will be cooked to order.

Rockdale PD makes three felony arrests during past week, two accidents listed

Rockdale Police Officers made three felony arrests during the past week including: • Jennifer Yvone Guelker, 37, Milano, was arrested by Ofc. Davis for possession of a controlled substance (under 1 gram) and criminal trespass. • Victor Manuel Montoya, 27, Rockdale, was arrested by Ofc.

FIRE CALLS

Responded to: • Love and Learning Center for a fire alarm that turned out to be a false alarm on July 17 at 11:07 a.m. • 1108 East Cameron for a report of the smell of some in a house on July 18 at 10:49 p.m.

Jail log lists all people charged with offenses through the county jail in Cameron. Charges may change during the process. Persons are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.

Sesquicentennial comes to a close

Rockdale’s sesquicentennial celebration came to a close on Sunday at Veterans Park with free swimming, a water slide, dunking booth, cupcakes and a concert by the Communities in Concert band.

ORGANIZATIONS

Rockdale Rotary Club meets the first, third and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department from noon to 1 p.m. Lunch is provided. Rockdale Noon Lions Club also meets at RVFD on the first and third Wednesday of each month with lunch provided.
