Mayor Ward Roddam administered the oath of office to new Rockdale City Manager Tim Kelty at Monday night’s city council meeting. Kelty comes to Rockdale most recently from Freeport but has also been city manager in two other Texas Cities, Red Oak and Anderson.

Dixie Whitmore turns 90 this week and a birthday celebration will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church Family Life Center. She has been the pianist for the church for over 40 years and has played and taught piano since she was 12 years old.
