CASA benefit September 14

CASA of Milam County will host its first annual fundraiser, Taste of Milam, from 6-10 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Venue at Railfan featuring food and beverage from Milam County’s best establishments. Entry is $35.

Peace Lutheran will be showing the 1923 silent film Martin Luther on Aug. 25 at 6:30 p.m. with live music by William Ricketts on percussion and Jennifer Bradley on piano.

ORGANIZATIONS

Linwood Acres Garden Club meets the second Wednesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. at Becky’s Sandwich Shop located at 2148 US 77, Rockdale. All gardeners are welcome to share ideas and experiences.

Rockdale PD reports two felony arrests, three traffic accidents

Rockdale Police Officers made two felony arrests during the past seven days including: • Johnny Aaron Morales, 34, Rockdale, was arrested by Ofc. Wachtel for possession of a controlled substance (under 1 gram). • Christopher Adam Mayhall, 34, Franklin, was arrested by Ofc.

Responded to: • Cameron at Bonham for a hit and run accident on August 17 at 4:42 p.m. • US 79 in front of Walmart for a two-vehicle accident on August 19 at 6:40 p.m. Milano VFD Responded to: • US 79 at North TX 36 for a vehicle that hit a sign on August 18 at 8:07 a.m.
