Rockdale MDD expands popular façade grant program

The Rockdale Municipal Development District (RMDD) Board of Directors recently expanded its popular façade improvement grant program by allowing other projects that will help Rockdale grow.

Washington Heights to get resurveyed

Rockdale City Manager Barbara Holly released a Request For Qualifications (RFQ) for a land surveyor for the Washington Heights neighborhood to be replotted.

FACTS ABOUT THE 1895

On Oct. 19, 1895, the Rockdale City Council approved the following for the new City Hall: a payment of $129.60 was approved for Henry Struve, the new contractor. Water Tipps was paid $3 for wiring the building. Elgin Press Brick was paid $57.20 for brick.

Buddy Oney Toy Run set for Dec. 3rd

The 17th annual Buddy Oney Toy Run, which benefits needy children in Milam County, is set for Saturday, Dec. 3. As usual the ride will begin and end at The Ranch. Registration starts at 9 a.m. and will be $20 per rider or $25 with a passenger. Or a new toy valued at $25.

Principals recognized at board meeting

At the last school board meeting held on Oct. 17, the board recognized the district’s four principals for National Principal Month. The Superintendent read the 2022 Texas Governor's Proclamation acknowledging Principals Month.
