RCS food pantry Rockdale Christian Services operates a food pantry at 224 West Cameron Avenue, open the second and fourth Thursday and Friday of the each month from 10 a.m. to noon.

Missionaries to speak at Meadowbrook Two Meadowbrook Baptist Church missionaries will speak and give a report of their mission work at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 17. One will be Shawn Bradshaw who has returned from Ukraine and will give us an update about what all is going on there.

One Stop to offer mental health services

Rockdale One Stop will provide adult and children’s mental health services on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Services provided will include skills training, case management, crisis services and supported employment and housing services.

Davilla holds community garage sale

A community garage sale will be held at the Davilla Community Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at 20985 N. FM 487. Featuring farm raised eggs, home canned goods, chicks in a variety of sizes, home baked goods, plants, fresh vegetables, wood crafted items and more.

RHS band practice starts for 2022-2023

Adrian Acevedo, Director of RHS bands, has provided the following schedule for both students and parents. July 18-20—New marchers, leadership, percussion and color guard, 7:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. July 25-28—Full band, 7:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 1—Marching Band parent meeting at the RHS band hall, 6 p.

Fire Chiefs’ Assoc. to hold benefit for Glenn

The Milam County Fire Chiefs’ Association will host a benefit for Ernie Glenn at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. Glenn was diagnosed with spinal cancer last year and all proceeds will go toward medical expenses and treatments.

$1,000 adult scholarships available from Rotary Club

Rockdale Rotary Club will be awarding two $1,000 scholarships to adults wishing to further their education. Applicants must have graduated high school or received a GED prior to 2022.

ACTIVE SHOOTER DRILLS—The Milam County Sheriff’s Department, along with their partner agencies, will again have active shooter drills next week in Cameron on Monday and in Milano on Wednesday.

Speakers announced for Groundwater Summit set for Aug. 18th in Caldwell

The 2022 Milam and Burleson Counties Groundwater Summit has been set for Aug. 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All are encouraged to attend. The summit is free and open to the public with lunch provided. It will be held at the Caldwell Civic Center at 103 TX-21 in Caldwell.
