RCS food pantry Rockdale Christian Services operates a food pantry at 224 West Cameron Avenue, open the second and fourth Thursday and Friday of the each month from 10 a.m. to noon.

ORGANIZATIONS

Farmers market, garage sale in Davilla Upcoming events at the Davilla Community Center are a farmers market and garage sale on Saturday July 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. A potluck dinner and game night will be held at 6 p.m. on Aug. 6.

MILANO NEWS

We have been exper ienc i ng record breaking heat this summer. There is a burn ban in effect and that means no fireworks that shoot up in the air. Our volunteer fire departments are staying busy trying to keep grass fires from consuming our county. I am so thankful for the VFD in Milano.

Monday—Closed for July 4th holiday. Tuesday—Barbecue on buns, pinto beans, potato salad, Mandarin oranges, milk. Wednesday—Roasted turkey, bowtie noodles, vegetable medley, roll, bananas, milk. Thursday—Rope sausage with peppers and onions, Spanish rice, pinto beans, salsa, strawberry cake, milk.

Rockdale PD makes two felony arrests, responds to two traffic accidents

Rockdale Police Officers made two felony arrests during the past week including: • Billy Charles Pearson,58, Rockdale, was arrested Saturday by Ofc. Parker for continuous violence against the family.

Rockdale VFD Responded to: • 392 Griffith Lane for a grass fire. • 994 South FM 487 for a grass fire. • Girls Softball Fields for a possible fire. • Cameron and Main for traffic control. • Cypress Trail behind Walmart for a grass fire. • 3986 Charles Martin Hall Road for a grass fire.
